About Grace Forster

I'm an Interactive Designer for Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) for general audience. My average day at PBS includes working on UX/UI design projects for the PBS app for mobile, tablet, and CTV devices. I’m familiar with working across multiple teams and designing for Apple (iOS & tvOS), Android, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, and HTML5 apps (Samsung TV, VIZIO, Comcast, Xumo, LG Smart TVs). I also deal with our apps design system and other marketing products. I’m interested in UX research, learning new Figma updates, and I also spend my time conducting competitive scans.

A little bit more about me:

Through majoring in Technical Communication User Experience Design at ASU, I developed my skills in UX/UI design and research and technical communication skills. The road to finally being able to call myself a “UX/UI designer” was quite bumpy. I was attending a local college my freshman year, but transferred to ASU online at the beginning of the COVID pandemic. Attending college online has given me the ability to graduate a semester early. And a couple weeks after my graduation, I attended an intense UX bootcamp: Ironhack. I went to their campus in Portugal for almost 3 months. Even with my limited (more nonexistent) understanding of Portuguese, I honed my skills as a UX/UI designer. All of my classes were taught in English, but studying abroad stilled proved to be a challenge. My education has been anything but traditional. However, I’m proud of the projects I’ve worked on thus far, both in school, and now, at PBS.
