Palermo
My family started our journey into Palermo by meeting our group to go on our excursion. We took a coach bus up a very steep and windy road to the top of a mountain. Here, we saw a panoramic view of Palermo. We visited a catholic church and a little market close to the church. We discovered that Palermo has a very interesting flag: a sun whose face represents medusa and the three legs to symbolize the three mountains of Palermo. After strolling through the market, we went to the Mondelo beach and walked in the water. I almost lost my lens cap in the water but a lady graciously tried getting my attention (it was difficult to know it was me, for she was speaking a different language) and was able to give it back to me. On the bus, we saw many billboard advertisements for Grace Coffee. Our tour was done early so we decided to go into Palermo on our own and pick up some coffee and a tee shirt. Ironically, we walked right by the store due to the lack of signs posted on the building. We had dinner on the ship and called it a night.
